I was browsing weird FNAF stuff and I challenged myself to try designing an original(sorta) animatronic in 3 minutes or less and my idea was a "catfish". Hahaa! Geddit..? Well, after a bit of work, it kinda stuck with me. The green/brown hair on its head is supposed to resemble seaweed. Its hand is to mimic a fin in order to help it through the water. Its left foot was damaged after a foot malfunction in a test-run, causing the foot to scrape across the floor.
Carla Catfish was designed early in the franchise's success (Canon-wise before FNAF2), where it would've been seen during exclusive birthday events (The 'Seaweed Spectacular' package). Its main purpose was to show off the capabilities of an animatronic by swimming around in an enclosed pool, then eventually pulling itself out and "growing" land legs (Its land legs are hidden in an empty hole in the mermaid tail) and walking around. When the franchise began to lose business and reputation, Carla was nearly done in the building process. However, the company had no budget to keep it and the event running, so they ultimately discontinued it and dumped Carla into the parts/services room to be used for spare parts, hence its missing left arm.
Never been used, Carla spends Nights 1-3 observing anything that moves (The animatronics and the camera) while rarely slithering on the ground (due to her swimming movements). She slowly becomes more active as she learns to reboot herself and use her legs. Due to this, her attack patterns are random, causing her to be slightly more difficult to manage. While she may not pose a threat on her own, her unstable behavior may cause noise, mostly due to falling or trying to "sing" (Distorted, unintelligible noises), causing her to attract the animatronics' attention, which may help or hinder the player depending on where she makes the noise. She can get as far as outside the Office by Night 6. Flashing the light at her multiple times may cause her to malfunction (due to reactive instability) and fall over.
